Wednesday Art Club (6 - 8 years old)

The Expressive Visual Arts Club is designed to nurture your child’s creative confidence by providing them with the freedom to explore, experiment, and express themselves artistically.

Wednesday Art Club

📍 Ages: 6 - 8 years old

📅 Dates: 26 August, 2 September, 9 September, 16 September, 23 September, 30 September, 21 October, 28 October, 18 November and 25 November.

⏰ Times: Wednesdays (3:00 - 4:00 PM)

Throughout the club, students will have a wonderful opportunity to explore a variety of artistic mediums, techniques, and styles, culminating in their own unique projects for a final exhibition in June 2027.

Our teaching approach and projects are thoughtfully tailored to each student’s age, abilities, and interests. We encourage all students to explore freely, with an emphasis on experimentation and creative expression. Along the way, they’ll develop both their technical skills and creative confidence.

Additionally, throughout the year, children will be introduced to a range of art movements and influential artists, using their work as a source of learning and inspiration.

Drawing & Painting

​The children will experiment with mark-making and drawing while experimenting with various mediums: watercolours, gouache, acrylics, oil pastels, coloured pencils and graphite. 

We will also cover basic colour theory and its application in painting. Each child will have built a collection of small and larger artworks.

Mixed Media 

​

The children will explore a variety of paper-based techniques, including folding (Origami), creating basic pop-ups, and assembling both 2D and 3D collages. Throughout this process, they will develop their fine motor skills and experiment with different artistic processes and materials.

Printmaking

Students will explore a range of non-toxic printmaking techniques, including monotypes and gelli-plate printmaking. They will create prints of various sizes and experiment with printing on various surfaces. 

June 2027: Final Exhibition

The club will conclude with a gallery exhibition, where students will showcase a curated selection of their paintings created in the club.

This event will celebrate their growth, creativity, and artistic achievements, giving them the opportunity to present their work to family, friends, and the community!​​

Max. number of students in this club: 6 students

This is a two-term programme running from August 2026 to June 2027, concluding with a final exhibition in June 2027.

Term 1 (August–November 2026): 26 August, 2 September, 9 September, 16 September, 23 September, 30 September, 21 October, 28 October, 18 November and 25 November.

Term 2 (January–June 2027): Dates shared closer to the start of term.

Payments are made in two installments, one per term: August–December 2026 and January–June 2027.
