SUMMER ART CAMP
11th August - 14th August 2025
(9:00 am to 4:00 pm)

We are excited to announce that registration for our SUMMER ART CAMP, running from 11 August 2025 - 14 August 2025, is open! The camp is open to children aged 6 - 12 years old.

The camp will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Thursday. There will be a break for lunch including a one-hour walk and play in a nearby forest. If the weather permits, we will also draw and sketch outdoors and create our cyanotypes outdoors.

Our program promises a rich and immersive art experience that kids will love! We will cover a variety of techniques and skills, ensuring an interesting and fun exploration of the arts.

ART CAMP SKILLS & ACTIVITIES

  • Watercolour Textures: Children will experiment with watercolour while learning various techniques to create stunning textures and effects. They will create vibrant, abstract and intuitive artworks.

  • Gelli-Plate Printmaking: This is an exciting and non-toxic printmaking method that allows kids to be imaginative and creative. The children will explore creating botanical prints and other abstract mixed-media pieces. They will also explore a variety of techniques, including masking, collaging, and stencilling.

  • Acrylic Painting: In this session, children will learn to work with acrylics, creating art on paper and canvas boards. They will receive individual guidance as they develop their own ideas. They can choose to focus on any subject they prefer: landscapes, abstract art, animals, or birds. They will learn how to mix and blend colours and create textures with paint.

  • Paper marbling: The children will experiment with colour to create mesmerising marbled patterns on paper, exploring colour mixing and design.

  • Linocut Printing: Lino printing is a graphic and hands-on printmaking technique that allows children to create bold and striking designs. It is specially designed for children aged 9 - 12, as it requires more precision and care.

  • Circuitry with Playdough sculptures: The children will discover the basics of circuitry in a fun, hands-on way by incorporating LED lights into playdough sculptures. This activity combines art and science while providing an engaging introduction to electronics.

  • Cyanotypes: The children will experiment outdoors with leaves, plants and flowers to create sun-prints. This is a fun and accessible approach to photography and printmaking.

Absolutely loved Shelly’s art camp! My 5-year-old daughter, who is usually very introverted and shy, felt completely at ease there. Shelly created such a warm and inspiring environment that not only encouraged her to express herself through painting but also helped her gain confidence. Even though the camp is geared toward slightly older kids, Shelly handled everything beautifully and made sure my daughter felt included and supported. Highly recommend!"
