Throughout the year, students will have a wonderful opportunity to explore a variety of artistic mediums, techniques, and styles, culminating in their own unique projects for a final exhibition in June 2026.
Our teaching approach and projects are thoughtfully tailored to each student’s age, abilities, and interests. We encourage all students to explore freely, with an emphasis on experimentation and creative expression. Along the way, they’ll develop both their technical skills and creative confidence.
Additionally, throughout the year, children will be introduced to a range of art movements and influential artists, using their work as a source of learning and inspiration.
Drawing & Painting
The children will experiment with mark-making and drawing, developing essential skills such as proportions, light, shadow, and form to create depth in their artwork. We will explore and experiment with various mediums: watercolours, acrylics, oil pastels, coloured pencils and graphite.
Participants will work on still-life compositions, using everyday objects and reference photos of subjects that inspire them. We will also cover colour theory and its application in painting. Each child will have built a collection of small and larger artworks, developing the skills to transform a simple sketch into a completed painting.
Printmaking
Students will explore a range of non-toxic printmaking techniques, including monotypes, gelli-plate printmaking, linocut printing (for children aged 9 and above), and cyanotypes. They will create prints of various sizes and experiment with printing on various surfaces.
The children will create collages and 3d paper sculptures as well. Throughout this process, they will work towards developing a collection of prints, collages, or sculptural works, experimenting with different techniques along the way.
Sculpture
Students will focus on learning non-toxic sculpture techniques using paper and recycled materials. They will build decorative pieces such as bowls, vases or medium-sized animal sculptures.
June 2026: Final Exhibition
The club will conclude with a gallery exhibition, where students will showcase a curated selection of their paintings, prints, and sculptures created throughout the year.
This event will celebrate their growth, creativity, and artistic achievements, giving them the opportunity to present their work to family, friends, and the community!
Max. number of students in each club: 8 students
