DESCRIPTION

This short course is designed for children aged 8 - 14 years old, without accompanying parents or adults. It is perfect for beginners and those with some drawing experience who are eager to explore digital art and storytelling.

In this course, children will learn the basics of Procreate on the iPad, as well as essential storytelling techniques. They will have the opportunity to create comic strips or picture books, blending both digital and traditional methods to bring their ideas to life.

Over four interactive sessions, participants will learn to use Procreate's powerful tools to create digital artwork. They will explore the fundamentals of storytelling, character development, and narrative structure, allowing them to craft engaging visual stories. While the focus is on learning and experimentation, children can choose to develop their projects either digitally or on paper, based on their abilities and comfort level.

Procreate App - Please buy the iPad version of the app. It costs CHF 12 and it is a one-off purchase. 

What You Will Learn:

  • Basic drawing and colouring techniques using Procreate
  • Designing and developing compelling characters
  • Storytelling and narrative development for comics and picture books
  • Combining text and images to create engaging visual stories
  • Flexibility to work digitally or on paper

Materials required:

  • iPad with the Procreate app installed.
  • Apple pencil.
  • All other art materials and templates provided.
